U.S. House of Representatives Speaker Election

The House will reconvene today after Rep. Jim Jordan (R-OH) fell short of receiving 217 votes to win the speakers gavel Wednesday afternoon. Today, the House will gavel in at 10am ET. Following prayer and pledge, they’ll proceed to a recorded vote on the quorum call. Following the quorum call and nominating speeches, the House will move to a third ballot for the Election of the Speaker of the House. 217 votes are needed to win the gavel.
