Celesta Recordings founder AJ Christou has made strides over the years with his unique blend of house and techno, landing him on line-ups alongside the likes of Loco Dice and The Martinez Brothers, and an outing on the latter’s Cuttin’ Headz label. The DJ and producer leans into the sounds of progressive and minimal techno with his own label, Celesta, launched in 2015 featuring releases from some of the biggest artists in the world including Ricardo Villalobos, Luciano, and wAFF. Birmingham-hailing Fleur Shore also fuses distinctive sounds when it comes to her big room DJ sets and residency at LAB11. With influence from early hip-hop, house, & R&B and a record collection that extends back to the ‘80s, Fleur Shore’s experimentation produces some of the most infectious, groove-filled house tracks on labels including Cuttin’ Headz, Tamango, and Frame Music. Pioneer DJ has created its first all-in-one system to feature standalone 4-deck playback named the OPUS-QUAD. Expected to be out later this month, the new unit has been styled with a sloping deck plate and incorporates eight hot cues as well as customisable full-size jog wheels.
