The Gardener - Drawing Timelapse

This drawing means so many things to me. After a time in my life where I had been pulled in so many directions and ultimately quite burnt out, this artwork offered a place of nourishment. This work humbled me, Ive never felt that a drawing brought itself into existence more than I did with this piece. What I thought would end up being an entirely different artwork kept coming back to the same themes and composition. The name of this piece is ‘The Gardener’ which resonates with me so much speaks to the slow nature of the process. Much like nurturing a garden this piece was the sum of days and weeks of slowly adding to a space as it grew into something bursting with life.
