VIDEO HERE: What was supposed to be a “commissioned song” for the upcoming film, turns out to be one of the author’s most introspective songs. A real cry for help from John Lennon but also one of the Beatles’ greatest hits… Stando alle parole di Stanley Parkers, cugino e amico di Lennon, una sera John tornò dallo studio e disse: “God, they’ve changed the title of the film: it’s going to be called ’Help!’ now. So I’ve had to write a new song with the title called ’Help!’“ Help! era quindi una canzone “su commissione“, per l’omonimo film in uscita, ma risultò alla fine uno dei brani più sentiti dall’autore. Scritta da John Lennon in un periodo di depressione e stress (da lui poi definito “Fat Elvis period“) dovuto all’improvvisa notorietà raggiunta coi Beatles. Fu uno dei primi brani in cui John mostrò tutto sé stesso, senza camuffa
