Martha Graham Dance Company (Performance/Demonstration)

Martha Graham Dance Company is the oldest contemporary dance company in America and one of its most celebrated. Artistic Director Christine Dakin discusses the legacy of Martha Graham, and company members demonstrate the technique that continues to influence dancers today. They perform excerpts from some of the company’s most celebrated works, including “Errand Into The Maze,“ “Appalachian Spring,“ “El Penitente,“ and “Diversion of Angels“ (recorded in 2005 at C. D. Hylton High School in Woodbridge, VA).
