. SAMMY WANJIRU - 2010 CHICAGO MARATHON - his LAST marathon

This video clip shows the final minutes of the race as leader Tsegaye Kebede of Ethiopia was repeatedly pestered by Wanjiru’s persistence. The Kenyan took the lead in the final 400 meters to clock 2 hours, 6 minutes, 24 seconds and defend his title in Chicago where he had set the course record of 2 hours, five minutes, 41 seconds in 2009. Tragically, six months later Wanjiru was dead as a result of a domestic dispute back home in Kenya and a fall or jump from a balcony.
