Puyo Puyo Tetris [PS4, 2014]

While we had access to another disappointing port of Tetris over here, Japan got the astoundingly good Puyo Puyo Tetris, mixing Tetris with Puyo Puyo in various different modes. It says a lot that this game has two puzzle games going on at once, and yet the Tetris displayed here is still better than most of the recent Tetris games have been. While you can play basic Tetris or Puyo Puyo, the magic is found in the various modes that mix and match concepts from both games.
