A hail storm that brought flooding hit Aix-en-Provence Météo France had placed dozens of departments on yellow alert for locally strong thunderstorms that could generate very heavy rainfall. Several departments have indeed suffered in the last hours from sometimes torrential rains. Hailstorms have also been reported locally. The storm have been of short duration, but of high intensity with 20mm of precipitation in 12 minutes in Aix-en-Provence and indeed hail in very large quantities.
