Family patriarch Fritz Von Erich took over the Dallas territory in the 60s and eventually, the promotion was renamed World Class Championship Wrestling, a member of the NWA. Fritz’ sons would work in the promotion to much fanfair, as the Von Erich brothers became legends in WCCW. People still, to this day, call The Von Erichs vs The Fabulous Freebirds the greatest feud in the history of wrestling. While the Von Erich story starts out like an great story with rises to fame and an incredible amount of popularity, the Von Erichs would go through some incredibly hard times. Kevin Von Erich, David Von Erich, Kerry Von Erich, Mike and Chris would all have troubles in their lives, and their story is now referred to as The Von Erich Curse.
