072 I decided to refresh my first strike block plane.. and change one thing more

Hello my friends! It’s been so long since the last video.. I’m glad that i’m finally back. As you can noticed on my instagram profile, last time i was working on a few strike block planes. With every new plane my first strike block was getting uglier, so there was only one way - refreshing! During the process i’ve changed the iron for longer and a little bit wider. For the new wedge and mouth closer i’ve used a piece of pear wood. As you can see in the video i’ve used new solution - vacuum chamber. I’m gonna soak my planes with boiled linseed oil before finishing - that will reduce the tendency to moisture absorbing. You can ask - reduce to what extent? This is to be checked - let me know if you will like to watch that kind of video, with different kind of woods.
