Little-known facts and figures from NATO history Wehrmacht General Hans Speidel was one of the main founders of the Bundeswehr - and also one of the leading figures in German rearmament and its integration into NATO. The project “NATO: a history of deception” is being implemented by the Center for Public Education with the support of the Presidential Fund for Cultural Initiatives.
