In the 2024 EnduroGP World Championship, the action kicked off with the Super Test on Friday night during the second round in Valpacos, Portugal. Josep Garcia showcased his speed once again, leading the pack with the fastest time for the second consecutive Friday. He was closely followed by Zach Pichon and Steve Holcombe. ✦ Quick Highlights from Tonight’s Akrapovic Super Test in Valpacos: ✦ The track looped near the paddock area, much like the previous year’s course. Although the grass was taller since last fall, the layout remained largely unchanged. Both National and Open class riders helped prepare the track by riding over the fresh terrain. ✦ Despite the track’s straightforward nature, a few riders faced challenges. Francesca Nocera and Rachel Gutish, favorites in the Women’s class, both encountered difficulties. Nocera lost significant time at a concrete step, while Gutish had a tumble in the sandy soil. ✦ Rosie Rowett snatched the fastest overall time in the Women’s class, narrowly outpacing Gutish by just a second, with Miriea Badia closely behind. The Youth class saw tight competition, with the top five riders all posting times around 1:39. Manuel Verzeroli emerged as the fastest. ✦ In the Juniors, French rider Leo Joyon led his class with a time of 1:36 on his Beta, showing a slight edge over his competitors. ✦ Brad Freeman dazzled in the EnduroGP class but missed one of the log obstacles. Following him, Zach Pichon delivered a swift 1:34.4 on his Sherco, although penalties for course cutting affected his final ranking. ✦ The evening concluded with an exciting showdown between Josep Garcia and Steve Holcombe. Garcia, riding for Red Bull KTM, recorded the night’s best time of 1:, with Holcombe trailing by 1.8 seconds.
