Desert Spirit - Gerhard Fankhauser

This track conveys my deep relationship and love to the desert and my gratitude to its simplicity and its magic. In the last few years, the desert became more and more a soul refuge for me, and the faster the pulse of modern life becomes the more I feel a longing for a slower rhythm of life, for nature, simplicity and silence. This song is a poem about the desert’s mystery, its loneliness, fullness, stillness and its timeless appeal to the awakening soul. After receiving the initial inspiration during a winter period in the desert two years ago I took my original recordings to the studio of Ofer Eshed in Ma’anit, Israel, where we did most of the studio recordings, mixing and the musical production.
