Ventus’ innovation culture drove the quick reaction and deployment to experiment with this new capability to learn the integration possibilities of the TR2 and to trial the evolution of commercially available dual-use technologies as soldier systems of the near future. The interaction between the Vision Pro and the TR2 offered innovative ways to enhance shooting skills, leverage diverse sensory inputs, and engage with the environment in the most unique way. Some of our key takeaways; 1. Out of the Box, the tech works and is a clear leap forward for AR/VR Wearables. 2. The interface is highly intuitive and can be used and operated with little to no instruction, especially if you are already an Apple user. 3. Design and manufacturing quality is premium. The harness system and straps are customizable and comfortable for extended wear, integrated perfectly with the Ventus TR2 and Helmet systems, and can be quickly adjusted to suit multiple diverse users. 4. The displays are incredibly sharp, and the perceived scale and size of the display windows will make you grin and say, “Whoa!”. Think of a browser window the size of a large SUV; now, picture looking at three or four windows in a 360-degree setting. 5. The passthrough video feed of the world looks great and has very little visible latency. We tested and experienced this while weapons handling multiple systems, catching items, skeet shooting, and delivering/receiving team-high fives. We’ll share more footage, reviews, and analysis from our range experience over the next few days. How would you want to see the Apple Vision Pro tested on the range or in a battlefield simulation? Let us know, and we’ll put it to the test.
