Full title reads: “THE DERBY 1934.“ Epsom, Surrey. Pan across the stands and racecourse - masses of people. Pan across endless lines of food and drink stands all crowded with people. People, cars and coaches are seen everywhere - and this is 3 hours before the race. Many people with umbrellas - it started to rain. King George V and Queen Mary arriving to the racecourse. Queen gets out of a car and shakes hands with some men. King follows her. Lord Harewood and Princess Royal are seen in crowd. Duke and Duchess of York (later King George VI and Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother) moving through the crowd at arrival. Pan across packed stands - it looks as if rain has stopped.
