HeadCrash : "Freedom" (Official Music Video, MTV, 1994)

This video for “Freedom“ was shot in Los Angeles in August of 1994, in support of the “Freedom“ MAXI CD (and the Direction of Correctness LP-CD), released by East-West/Warner Bros. It was directed by some schmuck that didn’t listen to anything the band had to say, or even the lyrics of the song for that matter. The whole reason we flew to L.A. was to capture the grit of jammed freeways and smog, not hang out in a warehouse and shoot a neutered video of ourselves. I don’t have an explanation for what I’m doing in the tub, or what Al is doing hanging from the ceiling (at least his part was cool enough to require the presence of a licensed stunt coordinator), or what either of us are doing chained to the sink. Looking back on it all... we were kids, and we were inexperienced enough to believe the people around us that were telling us “it’ll look cool when it’s done being edited...“ Yeah right.
