FEEDING SOUTH AMERICAN CICHLIDS (How Much, How Often, & What Food) - 7 Tips!
In today’s video, we discuss feeding South American cichlids. This includes 7 tips to ensure your South American cichlids are as happy and healthy as possible. We discuss how much to feed the cichlids, how often you should be feeding, and some types of food that work best for South Americans.
We try to feed our cichlids a variety of pellets, flakes, and frozen foods to give our fish the best diet possible, while trying not to over feed. For adult cichlids, typical recommendations would be to feed once per day, and roughly 5-6 times per week. Taking one day off per week can actually be beneficial to your fish. If you have any questions about feeding your cichlids, leave those in the comments section below!
