Dyke was the first artist to ever use “Funky“ in a song title! His Phoenix-transplanted-to-LA band hits it here on an old Mountain music song written back in 1939. Dyke was king of the regional shoutouts. His “Funky Walk“ mentions at least a dozen cities where he got airplay.
