Police station set on fire as far-right violence spreads to Sunderland

Britain is braced for dozens more incidents of far-Right unrest this weekend after a riot in Sunderland saw a police station set on fire. Eight people were arrested and three police officers taken to hospital following planned disruption linked to the Southport knife attack. Up to 30 incidents are planned by far-Right agitators in cities across the country this weekend, including in London, Liverpool, Leeds, Manchester, Hull, Nottingham, Middlesbrough and Newcastle. Several counter-protests have also been planned. On Wednesday, more than 100 agitators were arrested on Whitehall, where bottles and cans were thrown at police, and violence broke out in Hartlepool, County Durham, and Manchester. In the aftermath Sir Keir Starmer said that he would “not permit, under any circumstances, a breakdown in law and order on our streets”. Read your updates here: #police #sunderland #riots
