Sabaton - Purple Heart (Lyrics English & Deutsch)

The Purple Heart is awarded to members of the armed forces of the U.S. who are wounded by an instrument of war in the hands of the enemy and posthumously to the next of kin in the name of those who are killed in action or die of wounds received in action. It is the world’s oldest still used military decoration and has been awarded nearly 2 million times. First written as “Nightchild“ this song was meant to follow the style of their first album “Fist for Fight“. It is not known why they reshaped it into “Purple Heart“, but it was definitely the first step of their steep ascent to the point where they are today. CAUTION! I won’t tolerate any racist, discriminatory or in any other form inappropriate comments! This song neither glorifies war, nor National Socialism, but should be considered as a historical work. “No, we don’t glorify anything, we just tell stories about things that have happened.“ (Rikard Sundén, Sabaton)
