Heroines of the Holocaust with Lori Weintrob and Rokhl Kafrissen
During the Holocaust, more than 3,000 women fought back against the Nazis in ghettos, forced labor camps, concentration camps, and partisan units. This talk focuses on female resistance fighters Vitka Kempner, one of the first partisan leaders to blow up a German ammunition train with a grenade, and Sara Ginaite, who smuggled weapons into the ghetto and fought in the forests.
This recorded conversation between Dr. Lori R Weintrob (Director, Wagner College Holocaust Center) and Yiddish culture writer Rokhl
