Destroyed and abandoned Russian tanks and vehicles litter Donetsk

FOOTAGE from Donetsk on Wednesday, Sept. 28, shows destroyed houses and roads as well as abandoned military vehicles as Russian forces have reportedly withdrawn from certain areas. Evacuation of civilians also continue by boats since bridges were heavily destroyed by attacks. Ukraine’s separatist regions of Donetsk and Luhansk and Russian-controlled parts of Zaporizhzhia and Kherson held referendums on joining Russia on Sept. 23-27. Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelenskyy slammed the referendums in a speech to a session of the UN Security Council which he joined via video link. He said Ukraine will continue to defend its people in annexation vote regions. On Tuesday, the so-called Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) voted on the referendum, with % choosing reunification with Russia, according to the final results approved by the DPR’s Central Election Commission, Russia’s state news agency Tass reported.
