Dark Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) “Wukong” Satellite launch

A Long March 2-D rocket launched the DArk Matter Particle Explorer (DAMPE) satellite, nicknamed “Wukong”, from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center on 17 December 2015, at 0:12 UTC. DAMPE is a space telescope for high energy gamma-ray, electron and cosmic rays detection; and one of the five satellite missions in the framework of the Strategic Pioneer Research Program in Space Science of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS).
