Bach - Trio super Herr Jesu Christ BWV 655 - Van Doeselaar | Netherlands Bach Society
The Trio super Herr Jesu Christ, dich zu uns wend, performed by organist Leo van Doeselaar for All of Bach, is based on a chorale that Bach made no less than five arrangements of. ‘Herr Jesu Christ, dich zu uns wend’ is a hymn of praise with no downside – its message is: praise the Lord, as he shows us the way of truth. The climax comes in the third verse, which invites you to sing along with the host of angels and alludes to ‘eternal joy and blissful light’ in the future.
Recorded for the project All of Bach on October 21st 2014 at St Catharine’s Church, Hamburg. If you want to help us complete All of Bach, please subscribe to our channel and consider donating
