PHARAOH (Faraon). An Analysis of the Battle Scene

The battle scene in “Pharaoh” (Polish: “Faraon”) is one of the best realized scenes in Polish cinema. Why did it have to be shot in the desert at sunrise? How did the filmmakers refer to the paintings of ancient Egypt? Can the viewer climb the dunes, run to attack with a unit of Egyptian soldiers and experience the battle as if he/she was actually there? How was the placement of the camera in a birds eye view achieved while accompanying the soldiers? This is shown by the unique documentary materials used in the film.
