Trucker protests: Parts of Toronto see large crowds for anti-mandate demonstrations

Large groups of people descended on parts of Toronto Saturday as people opposed to COVID-19 vaccine and public health mandates gathered in protest outside of Queen’s Park and other parts of the downtown core. Trucks could be seen driving down the Don Valley Parkway with various Canadian flags strapped to their windows and front grills of the vehicles, with police setting up some road blocks. The streets directly around Queen’s Park were blocked off by Toronto police, but it did not keep people from walking to the home of Ontario’s legislature or taking over some streets holding various signs opposed to the mandates.
