Originally “Lalit” is a very specific Indian Classical Raag, that represents rather uncomfortable feelings of confusion, fear and despair.
It is very sophisticated melody-wise and it’s been written to perform or listen to in the darkest hour of the night, around 3:30-4:30AM.
There are several Bandish (song-lyric form poems) exist, exploring that exact mood. Here’s one, that we’ve covered:
“A person wakes up in the middle of the night from a disturbing dream, finding himself alone in the dark room. There’s no one with whom he could share this feelings. Suddenly, he can not remember anymore - what this dream was about?”
***
Индийская классическая рага под названием «Лалит» уводит слушателя из зоны комфорта, затрагивая глубинные переживания.
Гармония этой композиции довольно непривычна на слух.
