Italy: Sputnik COVID-19 vaccine to be produced in country in first EU deal

Italian-Swiss pharmaceutical company Adienne Srl, located in Lombardy’s Caponago, struck an agreement to produce Russia’s Sputnik V vaccine, the Italian Russian Chamber of Commerce announced on Tuesday. This will make Italy the first European country to produce the Russian vaccine, which has not yet been approved by the European Medicines Agency, which started its review of the jab last week.
