Full title reads: “Gosforth Park. ’The Pitmen’s Derby’. J Dines - on ’Pommarel’ - wins a fine race for the Northumberland Plate.“ Gosforth Park, Tyne & Wear. People watch race horses as they are led around the parade ring at Gosforth Park race course. The horses are led down the straight to the start. Pan across the crowds in the Grandstand. The horses gather at the start and as it rises they begin racing. Shots of the race (over the flat) in progress. The horses come past the winning post. The winning horse - Pommarel, ridden by J Dines, in led into the winners enclosure. A young woman stands holding the horse. Sound Track Missing NB.
