Following In Father’s Footsteps No. 1 (1935)

Titles read: “NOW Pathetone has pleasure in presenting “FOLLOWING IN FATHER’S FOOTSTEPS“ with Ralph Coram, Patricia Burke, Max Kirby and Mary Honri“. London, probably Pathe Studio. Ralph Coram, son of the ventriloquist called simply ’Coram’, stands before a microphone and explains we are about to see some sons and daughters of famous stage players. Patricia Burke, 17-year-old daughter of Marie and Tom Burke, enters and asks Ralph if he’s going to take her somewhere to eat and then to dance later. He makes a joke about girls having foot and mouth disease. Patricia sings ’Freckle Face’, accompanied by a glamorous woman at the piano. Gerald Kirby’s son Max enters and does some funny impersonations of Jack Buchanan and Noel Coward. Mary Honri, daughter of Percy, enters and plays a tune on her accordion. She also sings - the tune is ’Oh Papa’. The four performers join together to sing a snatch of the song “Following In Father’s Footsteps“ around the microphone. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITI
