Lebanon: Israel launches second wave of air strikes on Beirut

Beirut is being bombarded for a second time in 24 hours as Israel launches another wave of air strikes on the city. The Israeli military said it is conducting raids targeting Hezbollah weapons stored beneath residential buildings in the south of the Lebanese capital. A few hours before, the IDF told people living near a Hezbollah stronghold in the Dahiyeh suburb of the city to leave the area as soon as possible. Israeli forces are also targeting additional Hezbollah sites, including “a coastal missile array built with Iranian funding,” an IDF spokesman said. Earlier on Friday Israeli forces pummelled Beirut with a significant air strike that targeted Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, whose fate is not known.
