It is the end of summer and that means we are archiving a game where it feels we are still on holiday! Koa and the Five Pirates of Mara is a wonderful love letter to the 3D platform games form the late 90s and early 2000s. We play as the energetic Koa and together with our companion Napopo we are tasked with competing in various trials on several islands. We will have to run, jump and even swim our way to victory all the while we enjoy the lovely, colorful world and relaxing music. I feel that with platforming games it is important to have a good and captivating setting. Games like Spyro, Super Mario and Crash Bandicoot were always super colorful and vibrant and Koa nails this esthetic fantastically. There are hints of Asian culture interwoven everywhere and the hub island is a lovely place where you can just relaxed and explore a bit.
