The national security advisers of South Korea, the U.S., and Japan have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthen cooperation against provocations from the North. What’s your take on the discussions as a follow-up meetup of the Camp David summit between the leaders of the three countries? 2. One of their agreements also included tighter trilateral cooperation against North Korea’s illicit cyber activities that fund the regime’s nuclear and missile development. How effective will that pledge be? 3. What’s notable about Saturday’s meeting is that the three sides also vowed to work on tackling the issue of fake news. Why such a pledge? Is it because of the general elections next April? 4. White House Asia policy czar, Kurt Campbell, in his Senate nomination hearing last week to become Deputy Secretary of State, expressed worries and concerns that ” North Korea, in the current environment, has decided they are no longer interested in diplomacy with the United States.” How significant is this admission by a senior U.S. official? 5. Seoul’s Unification Minister said himself that leader Kim Jong-un is “in a hurry” to showcase his daughter Ju-ae to hint she could be his successor. Is that so? Based on what evidence?
