L/S of Mr Wilfred Green aged 50 standing on a roof, he is spraying a substance onto the lower half of a beehive. The Thames and buildings surrounding it are visible in the background. He is surrounded by other parts of a beehive. He places a small round object on the floor.
C/U of his hand lifting a layer of material from the top of the hive to reveal lots of bees buzzing about on the top of a row of honeycomb cells. He finishes spraying and lifts one of the cells out of the hive, it is covered with bees, he lifts it up to examine it. C/U of the cell covered with bees. The narrator tells us Wilfred is on the roof of Waterloo Station, he works in the Civil Engineers Department and tends the bees in his lunch hour. L/S across London from the roof, the camera pans round to reveal a train running along the tracks.
