MOST POPULAR WALK IN NEW ZEALAND: MOUNT MAUNGANUI

One of the most popular walks in New Zealand attracts approximately one million people every year. Today we want to share with you one of our favourite short walks - Mount Maunganui Base Track. Located in the picturesque Mt Maunganui, Tauranga (3 hours drive from Auckland), this extinct volcano offers several walking tracks with the most amazing views you can imagine. Hands down, walking up or around the Mount is the most popular tourist attraction in Tauranga and Bay Of Plenty. In this travel video / vlog, we share some information about the Base track - the one that is going around the Mount. It’s an easy walk that will take you approximately an hour to complete. Views are second to none as you’re surrounded by the water on one side and the beautiful Mount on the other. The track itself is easy to walk, it’s suited for any age or fitness level. There are plenty of spots to stop and soak in the views, there are lots of benches along the way. Birds and animals can be seen in multiple locations. We saw shags, Southern black-backed gulls, Rock pigeons and multiple small birds, as well as a fur seal.
