Cortex Thrill - Natural Dualities (Original Mix) [Bonzai Progressive]

Beatport: Croatian production outfit Cortex Thrill head up our next Bonzai Progressive release with ‘Dualism (Yang)’. This one follows ‘Dualism (Yin)’ and connects both releases for a truly wondrous journey. Known for their intriguing concept tracks that open up new worlds, their blissful sound makes way for alternative thinking, immersing us in the groove for a surreal experience. The guys are joined by the legend that is Jon The Dentist as he delivers two remarkable remixes. JTD dominated the 90’s with his trademark hard edged sound alongside the likes of Baby Doc. In more recent times he’s turned his hand to make smoother, progressive and tech fuelled grooves with several releases on our label. Great to see him back once again and we hope to see more in the future. ‘Natural Dualities’ opens the release with seductively warm tones. Set against a backdrop of punchy beats and rhythmic percussions, an emotive bassline controls the groove beautifully as melodic sequences paint a colourful scene. Pure and soulful with a trippy vibe, superb. ‘Paradox’ is up next with an impactful groove built around swirling, atmospheric pads and a gnarly, plucky bassline. Bright synths and subtle 303 style basses create a rich dynamic in the groove that will translate easily to the dancefloor. The Original Mix of ‘Fluid Kinematics’ is up next, taking us on a multi-point journey through a myriad of infectious electronic sounds. An uplifting, euphoric vibe oozes from the track, with a sense of motion that forces the body to move. Strong basses, bright melodies and tight beats combine on this magical slice. Next, we have the first of JTD’s remixes. His Club Mix of ‘Fluid Kinematics’ is simply outstanding as he applies the Midas touch to the original elements to churn out an infectious club banger. Chunky beats and crispy hats drive a solid rhythm as a chugging bassline dominates. Haunting FX, intriguing spoken vocals and atmospherics fill out the spectrum while dreamy pads rise up to create an emotive sequence. Panoramic arps greet us on the break before an enthralling build-up takes us to the drop for the final act. To round out the release, JTD delivers his Intro Mix of ‘Fluid Kinematics’. A wonderfully rich, vibrant and vivid display of music is on show here, taking us to a melodic, ecstatic utopia. Soaring pads, delicate pianos and striking synths combine alongside that mesmerizing vocal. A splash of retro is added with a tight breaks sequence, raising all sorts of nostalgic juices.
