Who Am I? - Peace Orchestra

This is a video I made for the trippy yet haunting instrumental, Who Am I?, by Peace Orchestra. It is best known as the opening song used at the beginning of the short animated film, Kid’s Story, which is included in the anime collection, The Animatrix. Recently, I’ve been getting back into the Matrix films. I remember when they were the big thing back when I was in high school, and I was a fan then, but interest now has waned considerably in most circles. It’s funny, I realized after deciding to watch the films again that I had never even gotten around to watching the last film in the trilogy, so just recently, after re-watching The Matrix, The Animatrix, and The Matrix Reloaded, I watched The Matrix Revolutions for the very first time. It wasn’t quite what I was expecting, but it was thought-provoking, moving, and a work of art. The whole series was, in my opinion. What I like about the series is how it is packed full of philosophy and symbolism, and provokes thought on deep questions about life and the nature of reality, meaning and the transcendent, and a plethora of other issues. They are also fun to watch, with all the great action sequences; kung fu, gunplay, car chases, and the like. But right now at this time in my life, I appreciate the films more than ever as I’m going through a lot of changes. I feel like I’m waking up from a dream, and like I’m finding answers to questions I didn’t think I’d find, and am asking questions with more boldness then I have in quite some time. Basically, I’m in a state of flux, and wondering who I am. So I can relate to the Matrix films. And especially the animated short, Kid’s Story, where a kid comes to realize that the world he thought he knew is different then he thought. But he also finds out that he’s not alone. And to me this is encouraging. :) I made this video with a bunch of pictures or drawings of people who look like they’re asking the same question that I’ve been asking lately... namely, ’who am I?’ I hope that this video will help you think about that question a bit too, if you aren’t already, and will provoke some reflection, and would remind you that in your search for answers, and for identity, you are not alone. Thanks for watching, and may you be blessed. :)
