This is a DROP Ride

Sometimes you pick a route because the wind is blowing that way. Kanan and Encinal are not my favourite roads, especially not climbing Kanan through the tunnels. So I roped my friends into coming with me, knowing all they really wanted to do was descend Encinal. Along the way we lost half the gang, but this is road cycling - we hurt each other then stand around and chat like it never happened. Alex wasn’t enjoying the crosswinds in a group and bailed early. Taylor had been suffering for a few weeks with the dry air we get this time of year, and his heart almost exploded on the main climb. We also found out he had a slow leak!
