Recently, I’ve been doing some testing with UE5.1 to try out some of its new visual features and improvements. Initially, it started out as a quick test of me throwing a bunch of Megascan and high-quality assets into a huge open world landscape. But then I got too deep into this and ended up turning it into an hour long cinematic video. Assets aside (environment assets from Megascan & MAWI Broadleaf pack, Buildings from KitBash3D Edo Japan & Cyberpunk packs, various others from Unreal Marketplace), everything else are created from scratch by me, but for weather & Cloud effects I used Ultra Dynamic Sky.
All foliage and trees have Nanite and Preserve Area enabled, there’re around dozens of millions of grass and tress within this project. Everything are rendered out in real-time with Software Lumen only, because I was not able to get RT Lumen to run in real-time with this project, likely due to me putting too much complex instance meshes and Nanite meshes into one huge open world scene
