Switzerland’s longest Via Ferrata - Leukerbad

The Daubenhorn via ferrata is the longest in Switzerland, graded K5 (extremely difficult). It is made of 2,000 metres of steel cable, 215 metres of ladder and a couple of steel cable bridges. It takes a good 5 hours to climb (almost 1000m up) and when you have finally reached the top (2941 metres), you still need to cross a glacier (6:27) and walk downhill for 2 hours. At the end of the day, you can relax your muscles in the bubbling water of Leukerbad’s thermal baths (6:50). Not only this is the longest one in Switzerland but it is also the most beautiful one. It has many memorable highlights including a giant Swiss flag (1:26) and a cave with a waterfall (2:46). If you want to experience what if feels like to walk on a steel cable at high altitude, make sure to watch 2:33 and 5:27
