Brahms - Hungarian Dance No. 5 in G minor (Super Mario 64 Soundfont)

As requested by Aldrine Joseph 25, here’s a rendition of Brahms’s Hungarian Dance No. 5 with the Super Mario 64 soundfont. Dances Nos. 6 and 7 will be uploaded over the following weeks. It is perhaps ironic that what may be Brahms’s single most well-known piece of music wasn’t composed by him at all. The “Hungarian Dances“ was a compendium of well-known folk pieces and dances from the time adapted and written down by Brahms for posterity, making some additions of his own as he deemed necessary. Brahms’s research wasn’t perfect, however, and the catchy main tune of the Hungarian Dance No. 5 was apparently so popular that he mistakenly thought it was a folk tune when it was actually from “Bártfai emlék“, a song by a contemporary Hungarian composer called Béla Kéler.
