Тебе поем (Tebe poyem) – Русский хор Йельского университета

Yale Russian Chorus: T’eb’e poyem (We Sing Hymns to Thee), by Pyotr I. Tchaikovsky, transcribed by Denis Mickiewicz. The invocation T’eb’e poyem, the epiklesis in the Divine Liturgy of St. John Chrysostom, occurs in the solemn moment when the celebrant secretly calls down the Holy Spirit to sanctify the Holy Gifts and the choir sings this hymn of thanksgiving. This piece is part of the setting of the Divine Liturgy (op. 41) by Peter Tchaikovsky (1840-1893), published in 1878, but not sanctioned for performance in churches. 65th Anniversary Concert by the Yale Russian Chorus and Alumni. Sunday, October 14, 2018, Woolsey Hall, Yale University. Daniel Gsovski, conductor.
