A look behind the looms. The Story of the Double Cloth.
Meet the Double Cloth; One throw. Two personalities.
A double cloth is created by two distinct layers, stitched together in the weaving process to form one piece of fabric. This makes a weighty, luxurious, and reversible throw with a beautiful heavy drape.
The unique characteristics of this technique allow for the creation of two distinct colour palettes, one on each side of the throw.
The Double Cloth has been a labour of love for many months. Sampling started on our antique Lancashire Looms, before moving into production to our Dornier machines with two chosen designs.
In this short video, we catch up with the design team, Lenore and Stuart, who have brought this masterpiece to life.
Designed, woven, made in South Africa.
