Dancing Girls (Live) | Nik Kershaw | Shepherd’s Bush Empire 2012

“Dancing Girls“ is about a bloke a bit down on his luck. He’s got a job and everything but he’s bored sick with the routine of getting up, going to work, coming home, watching the telly, going to bed ... in the end he’s saying, “For God’s sake, bring on the dancing girls! Let something exciting happen to me for a change.“ - Nik Kershaw ’Dancing Girls’ features on ’Human Racing’ which was released on 27 February 1984, peaking at No. 5 on the UK Album Chart and reaching the top 10 in several other countries. The album spawned four charting singles in the UK and it was the 22nd best-selling album of 1984 in the UK, receiving a nomination for Best British Album at the 1985 Brit Awards. The album has been certified platinum by the British Phonographic Industry (BPI). Fast forward to 2012; ’Human Racing’ was re-mastered and re-released and included bonus remixes and releases. Coinciding with the release of ’EI8HT’ in the same year, the final show of the corresponding tour, at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire on the 28th September, featured all Nik’s hits old and new; and the album ’Human Racing’ was played in its entirety during the second half of the show. That incredible night was recorded for DVD release later that year and has now been remastered for YouTube. Visit for the latest tour information and releases from Nik Kershaw.
