The World Radiosport Team Championship will take place in Italy on July 8-9th. Considered to be the “Olympics of Ham Radio,” this elite contest is the first since Wittenberg Germany in 2018. The impressive roster of ham radio operators competing in the WRTC have spent years improving their skills. They’ve all met difficult qualifying standards in order to earn their coveted slot on one of the two-person teams. Tim Duffy, K3LR, CEO of DX Engineering, owner of one of the world’s best contest stations, and a repeat WRTC competitor himself, joins W1DED for a conversation about the WRTC, its origins, structure and the people that seek the title of best in the world.
