Children’s Cocktail Bar (1957)

Jersey, the Channel Islands. L/S of a street with fields in the background, there is a wooden bar in the street with ’Le Moulin de Lecq Children’s Cocktail Bar’ written on it. Two women, dressed in traditional costumes from Brittany, are serving behind it and a group of children are stood in front of it. A girl in a blue dress walks away with her drink and a boy holding hands with a little girl and a toddler walks up, another child walks up behind them. This is the children’s equivalent of the adult cocktail bar with soft drinks instead of alcohol. M/S of the barmaids making drinks, one of them hands a bottle of Coca-Cola to one of the children. The other barmaid is holding Pinnochio the monkey on a lead, The narrator tells us you can get such cocktails as a ’Pussyfinger Special’ or a ’Spaceman’s Snorter’. M/S of the children stood in front of the bar drinking their drinks, there are different glasses with little umbrellas in them on the bar, one of the barmaids hands a glass to a girl. M/S a
