Music Hath Charms... (1931)

A story about playing music to animals in the zoo. Shot of group of musicians in suits playing to animals in enclosures in what looks like London Zoo. C/U of two of the musicians playing to two elephants. The musicians seem to be inside the enclosure. The elephants sway around - they seem to like it. But I suppose it is just as likely that they don’t like it. C/U of a woman holding a goat, a saxophonist plays the goat a tune. “A little jazz had a very restless effect on Mr. Bear.“ A polar bear runs around his enclosure as the musicians play him a tune (he looks very distressed rather than actually enjoying it). A man does a kind of Charleston as the boys play. The Polar Bear “dances.“ Was an item in Pathe Pictorial issue number 672. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
