“Be Still, My Soul“ is the English translation, made by Jane Borthwick in 1855, of Catharina Amalia Dorothea von Schlegel’s 1752 hymn, ’Stille, mein Wille, dein Jesus hilft siegen’. The tune is ’Finlandia’, taken from the main theme of Jean Sibelius’ 1900 tone poem, Finlandia. This performance is by the Scottish Festival Singers.
