Full title reads: “Edinburgh. With Regal Pageantry Sir Iain Colquhoun - the Lord High Commissioner - as representative of the King - holds levee and opens the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.“ Edinburgh, Scotland. Inspection of troops from kilt wearing Scottish regiment. Closer shot of those making the inspection - including Sir Iain Colquhoun. Sir Iain and other dignitaries ride off in horse drawn carriage from the parade ground. Sir Iain, his wife, and others are greeted by leaders of the Church of Scotland on the steps of a church or cathedral in Edinburgh. Inside the building pages in ancient uniforms lead a parade of dignitaries. Lots of strange hats are on display - along with a judge’s wig.
