Free Form Timber Construction Pavillion | Into the woods | Swiss Embassy Copenhagen | Blumer Lehmann

The ‘Into the woods’ pavilion was at the heart of an exhibition in the garden of the Swiss Embassy in Copenhagen during the 3 Days of Design event and is a joint project by MDT-Tex, JAJA Architects and Blumer Lehmann. ‘Into the woods’ consists of three identical and structurally independent tree structures that connect to form a covered space. The design was inspired by connecting treetops from an aerial perspective. Each tree in the support structure is formed from 18 timber ribs. The entire structure is covered with a water-repellent textile membrane. A steel tube in the centre of each shade serves for drainage and provides the necessary stability. The timber pavilion can be installed as a temporary or permanent design feature in gardens or public spaces.
